Hello world!

May 28, 2008

Mesa, Arizona May 29. 2009

www.ivanmartinezphotography.com is now another site on the web.

My love for photography started when I first clicked a camera as a teenager.  Later in life when I made the decision to pursue photography as a profession , I knew I was going to be doing something I truly loved. There are a lot of people that have helped me during this time.  Some were photographers, some were friends and family and some of them were business people that just wanted to help. Here are some of the photographers that provided great feedback and instructions along the way: Lucas Cichon, Sarah Megan Lee, Frank Lavelle, Alan Lowy, Doug Box and Blake Discher.

The person that got all this started was Lourdes Ianello who suggested I contacted Pam Slim who owns Ganas Consulting and has a well read and well recognized blog called Escape From Cubicle Nation.  Pam helped me take time to step back and discover that photography could be more than just a hobby; but a career.  Pam's words of encouragement and suggestion to read Martha Beck's Finding Your North Star  helped me rediscover my passion for photography.  Martha Beck herself also provided a light to help me make the transition and execute a plan of action.  Passion is a great motivator, but no business can succeed without a solid  business focus and plan.  To accomplish this I worked with the Arizona Small Business Development Center and SCORE.  These organizations are two great resources of information.  I also has to give thanks to my friend Enrique who owns onboraddtech for providing the site logo.

Last, I want to take a couple of lines to thank my friends, relatives and my family for providing a great deal of support during this time.  Without them none of this could have been possible.

Well, the "store is now open", the next leg of the journey has just began.

PS.  I would greatly appreciate your comments and feedback about the site.  Feel free to post them or to contact me directly via e-mail.
